Trevor used my own words when he said "the go to man". Den was mam's brother-in-law and my parents always enjoyed their trips down to Shenfield from Durham, where they were always well looked after by their very generous hosts. Despite me being Eileen's adopted son, it was typical of Den that I very much felt part of his family. He was certainly a major part of Eileen's. Although I never needed to ask "the go to man" for any help or take wise counsel, the very fact that he was there was enough, which makes it hard to believe that he no longer is. So thank you just for being there. Michael xx

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
